Congratulations to our client LS Bedding! The latest cover of the magazine “Ondernemers” made us dream on getting rich by sleeping. But LS Bedding gave the right answer to the market: added value, innovative products, complementary brands and differentiating communication power. The answer to the trend of “massclusivity”, where more people want more luxury in general. And more specifically in the sleeping business, where comfort and health-consciousness are getting more important. Where bedrooms are one of the major interior investments (certainly for the “baby-boomers”), to meet their ultimate dream: a hotel lifestyle sleeping room.

Mazda challenges an Xciting future!

A completely new model to be launched in March and plenty of interesting deals on the whole range of existing models during the Brussels Motor Show. That’s Mazda’s message.

To focus on the ground breaking SKYACTIV technology and the athletic KODO design of the new CX-5 compact crossover, we installed the X factor. People who are interested in the car, can book a test drive right now and win an iPad by doing so. At the same time, we communicate XXX Deals on all Mazda models: Xtreme conditions, Xtra promotions, Xciting series.

The campaign kicked off with a surprising X event for all Mazda dealers at the Brussels Atomium. The X factor will be present in all showrooms (including on iPad), in local campaigns and on the internet.

Yes, we did it! From a highly competitive field of 381 entries, we won 7 Merit awards and 3 Titan trophies.

The TAAN Titan Awards are Advertising Awards that honor the hardworking men and women in TAAN’s global network of independent agencies. Five impartial jurors have been handpicked to ensure the best work wins. The jury members come from prominent agencies in North America, South America, Africa, Sri Lanka and Europe. They have no affiliation with the TAAN network or its individual agencies.

This year the Titan Awards were held in Miami, Florida. From the 381 entries, 61 were voted as Merit winners. Of these winners, 10 were selected as the Titan trophy winners. Or easier said, the top of the bunch!

Vandekerckhove&Devos got 7 Merits for among others Mazda, Bostoen and Schering-Plough. And on top of that we got 3 Titan trophies for Cortès, Lalegno (Traditional Media Business-to-Business) and Bekaert Textiles (Graphic Design). We were awarded for our original ideas that break through the category and media clutter. But also the relevance, impact and results were key factors.

This year we really reached the stars. Take a look at the winners:

Mazda on the strip

Once a year Belgium celebrates its comic strip legacy with a big parade and all kinds of exhibitions and activities in our capital city. The adventures are typically devoured by kids and the young at heart. If there ever was a cool car for this audience, the new Mazda2 would be it. We “stripped” a special version of this car and set the stage for the adventures of our very own comic hero, MazdaMan. The rest of the coachwork was filled with blank strips for passers-by to draw on. Their masterpieces were instantly posted on Facebook. The one with the most “likes” at the end of the month wins the new Mazda2 for a whole year! Simultaneously readers and riders receive a MazdaMan T-shirt after completing a test drive at the local dealers. To be continued…

Get a taste of the many wonders of Mother Earth with HANDSEN&HANDSEN. This new brand takes us on a journey to the farthest corners of the world. We are in awe of the 7 unique collections. And, we are very much intrigued by the pure philosophy: ‘Re-source the planet’. The designs are inspired by ancient techniques that deserved to be saved from oblivion. Everything is made with the utmost respect for the planet and is once more crafted by hand. This all resulted in a range of pottery and home decoration with a heart and soul. So it was not hard to come up with a strong visual identity. The kickoff is Maison&Objet – the international trade show for the home from 9-13 September in Paris.

The backbone of the campaign is the strong belief in the pure philosophy. We have translated it into a trade stand where you can breath in HANDSEN&HANDSEN. A complete sales catalogue, an inspirational pocketguide and POS material that exhales the purity of nature are the supporting communication tools. Vandekerckhove&Devos op de vélo

Wij houden van ons bureau. Van onze manoir in Melle. Van onze groene jardin en ons strak intérieur. Maar bon, af en toe doet het toch deugd om er eens op uit te trekken. Om ons te laten verrassen door les goûts et les couleurs. Dat hoeft niet lang te zijn. Een nacht en een dag kan al volstaan. Zoals vorige week, om het lang weekend in te zetten. Na het werk richting Parijs. We checken in bij Mama Shelter en laten ons met plezier overspoelen door de nouvelle vague van punk en chic. Vannacht slapen we in aangenaam gezelschap -Jim Morrison en Edith Piaff liggen maar een paar kamers verderop. De volgende ochtend neemt een parisien ons op sleeptouw voor een fietstocht over de architecturale geschiedenis van de lichtstad. We komen op plaatsen waarvan we het bestaan nooit zouden vermoeden en laten de klassiekers argeloos aan ons voorbij gaan. Als na de middag de zon doorbreekt, zijn we vooral nog geïnteresseerd in de architectuur van de terrasjes. En als er geen file had gestaan ter hoogte van Rijsel, waren we nog voor middernacht terug thuis geweest. Verbroederen met de bazen, ontsnappen aan de briefing en réfléchir over allerlei onbenulligheden… Het wérkt!

U kent ze wel, de groene camionettes van Denys. U ziet ze regelmatig rijden. Een bouwbedrijf uit Wondelgem. Maar vergis u niet. Denys is een multispecialistische groep die innovatieve oplossingen exporteert naar projecten in de hele wereld. Omdat er in het Midden-Oosten een goudmijn aan nieuwe projecten in de euh… pijplijn zit, kwam Denys naar ons met de vraag om een “visitekaartje” te ontwikkelen waarmee ze buitenlandse politici en beleidsmakers kunnen imponeren. We wilden professioneel uit de hoek komen. Geloofwaardig, zonder te slijmen, en impressionant, zonder te roepen.
Shoot high, aim low. Het resultaat is dit referentieboek, een global report, gelardeerd met eerlijke beginselverklaringen en verbluffende cases. Meer moet dat niet zijn.
